About the role
As the IT Solutions Director, you will be instrumental in building and leading the technical foundation for GANT’s new business unit. In this role, you will oversee the implementation and management of IT systems, including the ERP and other critical systems such as supplier and customer portals. You will also serve as an architectural lead, ensuring seamless integration of systems that support the company’s growth objectives. By driving cross-functional collaboration and coordinating development efforts, you will help establish innovative, scalable solutions that enable long-term success for the new business unit.
The role will report into the EVP Digital & IT.
Strategic Leadership & IT Solutions Development
- Lead the vision, development, and implementation of IT solutions, aligning them with the business growth strategy.
- Build and lead the new business unit’s IT team.
- Oversee the deployment of ERP and other IT systems (e.g., supplier/customer portals), ensuring that they meet business requirements and support operational efficiency.
- Define and drive the architectural strategy for the new business unit IT, ensuring flexibility and scalability for future needs.
- Act as a key decision-maker for prioritizing technical projects that align with the business’s commercial goals.
Project Management & IT Leadership
- Manage and execute IT projects, from initiation through post-deployment support, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
- Lead the implementation of the the new business unit IT systems, coordinating with vendors, internal teams, and external consultants.
- Ensure the new business unit’s IT architecture and system configurations are optimized to meet business requirements.
- Collaborate closely with the new business unit project lead, to ensure a seamless integration of IT solutions.
Development Coordination & Execution
- Oversee the technical development and implementation of the new business unit’s solutions, ensuring that all features, updates, and integrations are aligned with business goals.
- Coordinate with development teams and third-party vendors to ensure timely execution of technical projects.
- Promote agile development methodologies and best practices, fostering continuous improvement across all IT-related projects.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Serve as the primary liaison between IT, business stakeholders, and external vendors, ensuring smooth communication and alignment across all parties.
- Manage vendor relationships, ensuring high-quality deliverables, compliance with timelines, and adherence to budget constraints.
- Ensure effective risk management throughout project lifecycles, identifying risks and developing mitigation strategies to resolve them.
Quality Assurance & Training
- Lead quality assurance efforts, ensuring that the ERP and other IT systems meet performance expectations and business needs.
- Oversee all testing phases, including user acceptance testing (UAT) and system integration, ensuring successful project launches.
- Coordinate training programs to ensure end-users are well-prepared and supported post-implementation.
Profile
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. PMP, PRINCE2, or Product Ownership certifications are a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in IT project management, IT solutions development, or leadership roles within the retail or fashion industry.
- Proven success in ERP implementations and system integrations.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing external vendor relationships.
Technical Skills:
- Strong expertise in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and IT architecture within the retail/fashion industry.
- Knowledge of agile development methodologies, system integration, and software development best practices.
- Ability to drive system configurations that align with business growth strategies.
Leadership & Communication:
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and lead cross-functional and development teams.
- Outstanding communication skills, capable of simplifying complex technical issues for business stakeholders.
- Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments with a strong focus on delivering results.
